Romantic Blouse PatternMy Romantic Blouse pattern is meant to go with the jumper you can make from the Romantic Dress pattern above, but it is also versatile enough to use for other eras. The blouse is definitely an "inspired by" creation and not meant to be period authentic. Made in heirloom fabrics with long sleeves and lace trimming, it works beautifully with the 1830s jumper. Made in a sturdier shirting material with short sleeves, it looks very retro-1949! You can also trim it with wide lace at the collar and cuffs and tuck the shirt into the "Beatrix" Skirt for a very "Armistice Day" look. This is a fun pattern to use to create a wide variety of styles.
- Sizes XS, S, M, L, XL (essentially 6-24) all included in one envelope.
- Illustrated instructions make construction easy!
- Options for long, cuffed sleeves and short cap sleeves.
- All-in-one collar makes this an easy blouse to put together.
- Online Photo Instructions in the works!
- Yardage Chart available online.
Packaged in a printed envelope and containing illustrated instructions, the pattern is US$12.00, plus shipping. | Girls' Romantic Era Dress PatternHere's the companion to the women's Romantic Era Dress pattern. I've pulled sleeves and skirt width from the later Romantic period, but the fit is still very similar to the Ladies' Romantic Era Dress (shorter bodice). Early Romantic Girls' fashions looked just like Regency fashions, so pulling those larger sleeves and wider skirts gives this a different look--and it will take you into the early Victorian Era if you simply lengthen the bodice by two inches! Dresses made from this pattern are meant for play, and I highly recommend getting the Pinafore/Pantaloon pattern below so you can also create the requisite pantaloons.
- Sizes 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8 & 10 all included in one envelope.
- Illustrated instructions make construction easy!
- Options for long sleeves; short, puffed sleeves; cap sleeves; and flare sleeves like you see in the drawing at left.
- Online Photo Instructions in the works!
- Yardage Chart also available online.

Below are photographs of the heirloom version of the pinafore made from this pattern, along with an eyelet pinafore. This pinafore will work over the girls' Regency Dress pattern, the Romantic Era, and the late Victorian-early Edwardian eras. The plain pinafore is rated "easy," because a beginner could put it together with no trouble. The heirloom pinafore requires some more advanced sewing techniques (French seams, tucks, etc.), but it is still more "intermediate" than "advanced."
