I am so often asked if I will make outfits from my patterns for customers. This is the way Sense and Sensibility Patterns got started, but as the mother of seven children, my sewing time is limited, and I no longer sew for the public. Several years ago, I came up with the idea of having a seamstress "in residence" who would be able to create garments from my patterns for customers. I've had a number of fantastic seamstresses fill this office in the past, and I have been thrilled with their work. Geneece Arnold is no exception to the rule! As Sense & Sensibility's present Seamstress in Residence, she comes highly recommended as a lifelong sewing enthusiast and creator of beautiful, high-quality clothing. Geneece can, of course, also do custom sewing from other patterns, so don't hesitate to contact her if you have a project in mind! Below are just a few samples of Geneece's excellent work. If you'd like to get in touch with her about a custom sewing job, please use the contact form below. You can also visit Geneece's website, Sew Many Treasures. Be sure to tell her you found her on Sense & Sensibility!

I wanted to tell you about my experience with Geneece. I purchased from her two pairs of culottes each for my daughter and I. We were delighted with the quality of the material and the workmanship (in fact, I am wearing one of them at this moment). My husband was pleased with the price. We intend to purchase from her again in the future as we are able.Sincerely,
Dawn H.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Geneece is not just a wonderful woman, but also a wonderful seamstress. In general terms she should certainly be described as an excellent and accomplished seamstress. Geneece is creative by nature, with a natural eye towards fabric and color selection for specific projects. She has the ability to sew exactly what the pattern calls for, or she can go beyond the pattern if requested. My teenage daughter needed a formal period dress for her docent duties as a Brazos Belle with the Historic Foundation in Waco, Texas. Geneece came to the rescue. She consulted with us, gave us ideas and options, and produced a beautiful dress. My daughter will use it for four years with the foundation. Additionally, she is so pleased to wear it occasionally at English Country Dancing balls along the way. I could go on and on, but suffice it to say that Geneece is very talented and does outstanding work. My daughter and I could not be more pleased. I do not hesitate to recommend her.
Sincerely,

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Geneece is an excellent seamstress, and her customer service is first-rate. I requested a 100% cotton flannel nightgown for my daughter and gave her all the requisite measurements. She did not have any flannel on hand but went out shopping and emailed me 3 samples of fabric. I picked 2 (since they were so pretty, I couldn't decide on just 1) and within a very short time, the nightgowns were completed and mailed. When the package arrived, I was both pleased and surprised by the attention to detail. The bodice required buttons/snaps...she picked out very sweet complementary buttons for one and snaps for the other as well as lace along the bodice and sleeves. They were not *generic* at all. My daughter was thrilled and is wearing one now as I write. Geneece's communication skills are first rate.
Sincerely,
Lisa H.
